Timeline

Below are the recommended stages in the yearbook production process. Mix and match stages depending on your yearbook committees needs, though always try and set the deadlines as early in the year as possible to ensure there is adequate time at each stage:

  1. Firstly, form your yearbook committee and allocate jobs
  2. Send in your Order Form and deposit
  3. Your first deadline in the year is the Content Completion Date. All contents and photos for your yearbook should be collected by this date. Give this date to anyone who is going to contribute to your yearbook (photos, articles etc) to ensure they get their content in on time. You should try and make this deadline as early in the year as possible (try for 2 to 3 months prior to your Delivery Date as this will give you more time to design and proof).
  4. After your Content Completion Date comes your Design Deadline. By this date all the design for your yearbook pages and cover should be complete.
  5. After your Design Deadline comes the Proofing Deadline. Allow at least one week for staff and student feedback. Give this date to anyone who is helping you in the proofing process:
    • Get all home-room teachers to check over the spelling of students names and to sign-off on their page
    • Get every person who contributed to your yearbook to sign-off on their contribution in the final yearbook
    • Get your Principal to look at your completed yearbook, make any changes as necessary and sign-off
  6. Editor's Deadline: On your Editor's Deadline you should be able to relax! Your book should now be designed, proofed and signed off on all the pages in your yearbook and sent "Permission to Print" to Fusion Books, your Pre-Printing payment should have already been paid prior to this date.
  7. Delivery Date: On this date your beautiful yearbooks will arrive at your school. Before setting this date with Fusion Books have a chat with the staff at your school, your yearbook coordinator or principal to determine when you need your yearbooks. Do you need it for your graduation ceremony or a school assembly? It is often a great idea to set your delivery date a couple of days (or if you can afford the time a week) prior to your special event so you can have them sitting at your school stress-free!
  8. Your Editor's Deadline and Delivery Date can be lodged with Fusion Books when you send in your Order Form
